One motif is the concept of homecoming and the glory that goes with it. Odysseus gives up a lot, including all his men, an immortal goddess wife, and immortality just to have a shot at getting his homecoming. Also tied into this is the comparison between Agamnon's death and what might happen to Odysseus with Penelope. And Telemachos might have to follow in the footsteps of Orestes is Penelope is unfaithful. There is also the myriad of issues that deal with troubles Odysseus must avoid of fight through to get his homecoming. This motif plays a part in the answers of 1,3,6,7,9, and 11 on the review sheet, so obviously it is important. And NO, this is not straight off sparknotes
